Flow Facts

We continually monitor reservoir levels and make ongoing adjustments to water discharge from the reservoir, in order to achieve a balance between environmental protection and ensuring there is energy to power the smelter.

We have done a lot of work to better understand the Nechako Reservoir to help us manage this important resource – from ongoing data collection and research, to working with our communities.

We are committed to sharing information about reservoir management with watershed communities and other interested parties through our Flow Facts, a weekly report on reservoir conditions and our operations. Sign up today for updates.

You can view real-time and historical reservoir activity below. If you require additional information about reservoir operations, please reach out at nechakoreservoirupdates@riotinto.com.
